Walter loved Jesus and because of the love of Jesus in his heart he saw the good in everyone he met. Everyone who knew him, loved him. Walter enjoyed playing basketball with all age groups and he liked the Chicago Bulls, especially Michael Jordan. He also was on the bowling league at Fort Hill Village Bowling Alley. One of his greatest passions, however, was the Pittsburg Steelers and his church family at Truth Baptist Church.
Awaiting Walter in Heaven are his parents, Raymond Cecil Carter and Wanda Lee Pence Carter; brothers, Donald Carter and David Carter; and one nephew.
Walter is survived by siblings, Mike and Debra Carter of Summerville, S.C., Jeff Carter of Lynchburg, Joy “Kathy” Sligh of Newnan, Ga., and Richard Carter of Lynchburg; two nephews; seven nieces; special friend and co-worker, Mike Abbott; and numerous other family members and friends who loved him dearly
