

Born in Campbell Co., he is the son of the late Ervil Ashby Booth and the late Uva Davidson Booth. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Darrell W. Booth.
Wayne was a faithful member of Bethany United Methodist Church and a retired forester, well known as “Smokey the Bear”, from the Virginia Department of Forestry. He was Past Master of the Reedy Spring Masonic Lodge #203 in Concord. He was a family man who enjoyed his time with his wife, children, grandchildren and other family members.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Glenn A. Booth and his wife, Vivian and Terry K. Booth and his wife, Terri, all of Rustburg; five grandchildren, Jacob Booth, Nathan Booth, Evan Booth, Ridge Filchock and Jolie Filchock; a brother, Jimmy Booth and his wife, Barbara; two special nieces, Lisa Richards and her husband, Robert and Laura Garrison, her husband, Tim and their daughter, Kaylee and a number of other nieces and nephews.
The family expresses their thanks to the staff at Liberty Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center for the love and wonderful care that they have given Wayne for the past 3 years.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Bethany United Methodist Church in Rustburg, with Pastor Jennifer Moore, officiating. Interment will follow in Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Monday, March 27, 2017, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at other times at the residence.
