Wendy Taylor Salmon

Born on November 3, 1962 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of Jeanette T. Morgan and the late Thomas O. Taylor. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by a son, her baby boy Kevin A. Salmon; her beloved grandparents, Edgar and Edith Anderson (Granddaddy and Nannie); step-father Harvey G. Morgan; father-in-law, Terrell A. Salmon, Sr. and brother-in-law, Terrell A. Salmon, Jr.

Wendy loved the color purple and was happiest when she was spending time with her family, cooking, going camping or at the beach. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and heart of gold. She will be greatly missed by those that knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jeffrey W. Salmon; her son, Stuart Salmon (Emily); sisters, Teresa Reynolds (Mike) and Cindy Irby (Don); her in-laws that loved her as their own, mother-in-law, Linda Salmon; sisters-in-law, Libbie Reedy, Melissa Salmon-Privette and Holly Salmon; brother-in-law, Leslie Salmon (Tara); step-brothers, Sam Morgan (Stefanie), Blu Morgan (Shelley), Jetta Morgan (Sherri); her puppy, Liza; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and staff of the Alan B. Pearson Cancer Center, Centra Health Oncology, Centra NICU, and CMG Neurology.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.

A memorial celebration of life will be conducted on Saturday, April 22, 20;23 at 1:00 p.m. at Whitten Timberlake Chapel officiated by Rev. Steve D. Tyree.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alan B. Pearson Cancer Center, 1701 Thomson Dr. Lynchburg, VA 24501 or a charity of your choice.
