William "Bill" Joseph Alvis

William (Bill) Joseph Alvis, 55, of Lynchburg, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2019 peacefully at his home. Born in Lynchburg, VA he was the son of the late Fred and Barbara Alvis. Bill served in the United States Marines right after graduation then returned to Lynchburg and had a successful career as a salesman. For the last 15 plus years Bill has been a co-owner of Kar Krafters in Rustburg, VA.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth (Brandy) Alvis; one son, Steven Foster; two daughters, Sarah Foster, Tracey Foster; two step daughters, Taylor Linker, Madison Linker; one brother, Allen Alvis (Renee); two sisters, Maryann Hankle (Alfred), Elizabeth Johnson (Dan); and many nieces, nephews and friends that loved him dearly.

A memorial service will be held at 6 pm on Friday, March 22, 2019 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service till 8pm.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Centra Hospice staff and Dr Paul of the cancer treatment center for taking such good care of their loved one.
