A resident of Lynchburg, Virginia, Bill was a man of many talents and interests, often described as a "Jack of All Trades." His skills in carpentry and welding were well-known, and he took great pride in building and fixing things. A creative and resourceful individual, Bill was also a free spirit who loved hunting, fishing, playing cards, and spending time outdoors. His passion for motorcycles and rock and roll was evident to all who knew him.
Bill was deeply devoted to his family. He shared a very close bond with his mother, Ruth Dolan Dodson, cherishing their time together. His daughter, Courtney “Lee Lee” Thomas, held a special place in his heart, and his love for his family was profound. Bill is survived by his daughter Courtney and her spouse Evan, his mother Ruth, his brother Bobby Dodson and spouse Renna, his grandson Eli Thomas, his granddaughter Emryn Thomas, and his nieces Amanda Bryant and Sarah White. He also leaves behind his special nephew, Rob Dodson.
He was predeceased by his father, Robert Mays Dodson, Jr., and his brother, John Steven Dodson.
Bill’s faith was an important part of his life. He loved the Lord and often spoke of his faith in simple, heartfelt ways, touching the lives of those around him with his sincerity.
William “Bill” Keith Dodson will be remembered for his love of life, his dedication to his family, and his unwavering faith.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 3:50 pm on Thursday, February 12, 2026 followed at 4:00 pm by a Celebration of Life at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor Sam Stump, Jr. officiating.
