
William Edward Farrar, 81, of Lynchburg, died, Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Evelyn Mays Farrar. Born May 18, 1931, in Chase City, he was the son of the late William Bennett Farrar and the late Jean Wingold Farrar.
William was a retired maintenance technician for Griffin Pipe and a member of Calvary Cross Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by two children, Susan Maitland and Tina Falls.
In addition to his wife, William is survived by four children, Jerry Brooks and his wife Tina, Gloria Lawhorne and Patricia Wood and her husband Ronnie, all of Lynchburg and Shirley Marcus and her husband Danny of Spout Spring; one brother, Jimmy Farrar and his wife Rosa of Concord; one sister Dorothy Rutledge Kuhn of Forest; best friend, Bill Mays and his wife Faye of Madison Heights; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted, 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Calvary Cross Baptist Church with the Rev. E. Wayne Hudson officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends, 12-1 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Calvary Cross Baptist Church and at other times at the residence.
