Barbara Jean Carver

Barbara was the daughter of William C. and Katherine (Parker) Appleton and grew up in the Town of Gaines. She was born Oct. 11, 1927 and married the Love of her life on June 28, 1946.

She collected an extensive family-some by blood, some by choice, none of whom were ever aware of any difference in the love she showed them.

Surviving her are brother, Richard C. Appleton of Carlton, her three children Alexis (Kenneth Sr.) Strickland of Lyndonville, Eric J. Carver of Hammondsport, Bret J. Carver of Lyndonville, grandchildren, Kenneth M. (Corie) Strickland Jr. of Lyndonville, Alana M. Carver, Amber (J.P.) Riley, Benjamyn (Tanya) Carver, all of New Hampshire, Rich (Donna) Sukackas of Rhode Island, Josh Wombles of Hammondsport, as well as two nephews and their families. She has 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

She had many dear close friends that never fail to put a smile on her face with their cards, phone calls and visits. She cherished each and every one of them.

Barbara was retired from Monroe Electronics in Lyndonville, but was prouder of holding her dream job as a wife and mother. She was a Charter Member of the Ridgeway Fire Co. Women’s Auxiliary and worked as an Election Inspector for the Town of Ridgeway for many years. She was also a member of the Lyndonville United Methodist Church for over 50 years.

Relatives and friends may call on Mon. Jan. 26, 2015 from 4-6 PM at the Lyndonville United Methodist Church 102 N. Main St. Lyndonville, NY 14098, where a funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM with the Pastor, Rev Beth Malone officiating and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
