Grace M. Lonnen

Born on August 18, 1916 in the Town of Yates, NY, she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Beatrice (Helsdon) Buckland.

Grace lived on Alps Rd. in Lyndonville all her life and on June 11, 1941, she married the late Merrill E. Lonnen, together raising four children. Besides working on the family farm, she also worked for various companies, including, Heinz, Lydonville Canning and Lipton’s. Grace enjoyed canning, gardening and entertaining family and feeding the neighborhood cats.

She is survived by four children, Merrill M. (Jackie) Lonnen of Lyndonville; Donna (Gene) Hart of Albion; Joan (James) Mandaville of Gasport; Beverly (Douglas) Winters of Medina; 17 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren. A brother-in-law, David Schweigert of Corry, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by a brother, Robert Buckland.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 112 N. Main St. Lyndonville, NY 14098 on Thursday, November 13, 2014, from 11 AM- 2PM with a funeral service at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Daniel Thurber officiating and burial will be in the Lynhaven Cemetery.
