Veva B. Wienke

Born on October 27, 1920 in Lyndonville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Lowell and Marie (Manley) Barnum.

In 1938, she graduated from Lyndonville High School and in 1940, she married the late Elwin Wienke and together they made their home in Lyndonville, raising three children. She was employed as a secretary with the former Lyndonville Insurance Agency for 25 years and was a life time member of the Lyndonville United Methodist Church, where she once served as Financial Secretary from 1987- 1990. Veva enjoyed housework, reading, music and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her two children, Janice (Richard) Allen of Youngstown, NY; Creig (Mary) Wienke of Holliston, MA; grandchildren, Eric Allen, Michelle Phelps, Brien Wienke, Bret Wienke, Carick Wienke; great-grandchildren, Cara, Isabelle, and Tristan Allen, Joshua and Jacob Phelps and Elsa and Ethen Wienke and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, Veva is predeceased by a daughter, Lynne Harling and a sister Jene Grimes.

Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 from 6PM-8PM at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 112 N. Main St. Lyndonville, NY 14098. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00AM at the Lyndonville United Methodist Church with the Pastor, Rev. Beth Malone officiating.

Burial will be in the Lynhaven Cemetery.
