after complications from a fall. She was 77 years old. Beverly was born on January 18, 1944 in Dallas,
Texas to Dr. E.H. Brooks and Lela Mae Lane. She was a proud Woodrow Wilson High School graduate,
class of 1962. Beverly met the love of her life, Mike Dossett, in eighth grade at J.L Long Middle School.
They were united in marriage on December 26th, 1964 at East Dallas Christian Church. Together 63
years, they loved and supported one another through life’s journeys.
In 1971, they moved to Winnsboro, Texas to take over a dental practice and raise their family. They had
three children, David, Debra and Danny, and enjoyed small town life. They were involved in First Baptist
Church of Winnsboro, and met many dear life long friends. After 10 years, family called them back to
Dallas and Mom supported Dad in the growing of dental practices throughout the Dallas area. They
were active members at Prestonwood Baptist Church. She was a wonderful Mother and present at our
school and church activities. She always had a listening ear and encouraging word. Her warm smile and
bright blue eyes greeted us and welcomed us home. Mom’s biggest joy was becoming a grandmother,
and in 2003 she took to heart the role of being Mimi.
In her later years, Mom and Dad chose a slower pace of life by moving to Cedar Creek Lake. There she
enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling, playing bridge and hosting family. They loved sitting on their back
porch taking in the views of the lake, especially the sunsets! Beverly enjoyed being a member of Pinnacle
Women’s Club. She also loved participating in her book club, Bookers, with dear friends.
Beverly was loved by so many. She brought joy and laughter to those around her. She put her family first,
and shared her love of cooking while hosting family gatherings—her favorite! Mom is greatly missed and
we are heartbroken, yet we rejoice in the hope and promise of eternal life, knowing we will be reunited
again.
Mom is preceded in death by her parents Dr. E.H. Brooks and Lela Mae Lane; sister, Barbara Meier; and
brother, Dr. Barry Brooks. She is survived by her beloved husband Dr. Mike Dossett; son David Dossett
and wife Michelle, daughter Debra Priest and husband Dr. Blake Priest; Danny Dossett and wife Jennifer;
grandchildren, Deuce, Drew and Dani Dossett; Olivia and Ella Kate Priest; Riley, Matthew, Adrianna and
Brandon Dossett; and sister, Bebe Horton.
A Memorial Celebration of Beverly’s life is being held Thursday, June 10th, 1:00 at Pinnacle Golf Club in
Mabank, Texas. A reception for family and friends will follow.
