Billy Gene Childress was born on October 30, 1931 in Mabank, Texas and entered into eternal rest on June 8, 2020 at the age of 88. Billy was known as “Wild Bill” to his family and friends. He enjoyed working on cars, trucks and tractors. Billy loved rebuilding things. He was an exceptional father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend. Billy will be missed by all his family and friends.
Billy was preceded in death by his father Theodore Childress, wife Ruth Mae Childress, son Bob Childress and daughter Nita Grandi.
He is survived by his son Ted Childress and wife Vickie of Gun Barrel City, daughter-in-law Martha Childress of Virginia, granddaughter Misty Hurtado and husband Josh of Garland, granddaughter Amber Porcayo and husband J.R. of Dallas, grandson James Childress of Justin, granddaughter Melissa Childress of Las Colinas, granddaughter Jennifer Pelletrino and husband Dominic of Rowlett, granddaughter April Hibdon and husband Steven of Kemp, grandson Casey Smith and wife Kirsten of Mabank, many great and great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, other loving family members and many more lifelong friends.
