On May 21, 1972, Chuck joined the US Air Force. He served at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, till he received an honorable discharge on May 13, 1976.
Chuck loved ranch work and worked on many different ranches, then he started driving an 18 wheeler. He love the open road and the nomadic lifestyle that afforded him. He loved to tell stories of his adventures on the open road.
Although Chuck did not have any children of his own, he helped many children go to college who would not have had the chance otherwise.
He was proceeded in death by our parents, Clarence Lee Barnett and Edna May Myers Barnett, both of Payne Springs, TX.; and nephews Joseph Robin Price, of Maryland; and Gene Robert Fowler of Kemp, TX.
Chuck is survived by his sisters, Donna Lee Atherton, of Mabank, Tx.; Darlene Kay Warner, of Kemp, TX.; and Christina Maria and her husband Joseph Henry, of Gun Barrel, TX.; and brother Michael Ray and his wife Cindy Barnett of Cisco, TX. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and even more great greats, as well as a countless number of cousins all over the country.
Chuck was loved by all our family and was a fantastic brother to his siblings. We dearly miss him.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.eubankcedarcreek.com for the Barnett family.
