Floyd “Butch” Marrs was born on September 2, 1946 in Dallas, Texas to parents Lloyd Raymond and Willie Mae (Adams) Marrs and entered into eternal rest on October 26, 2019 at the age of 73. Butch attended Oak Cliff High School and was in ROTC during his high school years. He was drafted in 1966, serving during the Vietnam War in the United States Army. After serving in the military, Butch worked as a carpenter in the construction business. He loved fishing, being on his tractor; mowing his lawn. Butch was an avid reader; especially Louis L ’Amour books, who was his favorite author. He loved work and was very knowledgeable with carpentry. Butch loved sharing stories about his job and liked all his work buddies. He enjoyed family time, spending time with his grandchildren; his grandson Jacob was his best buddy. Butch loved animals; his three dogs; Ace, Penny, Little Bit and his cat Spanky. He loved making his wife’s famous potato salad (in the yellow bowl) and going golfing. Butch was an amazing man, father, brother and grandfather to many. He will be missed immensely by those who knew and loved him.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, wife Barbara Taylor-Marrs, brothers; Clarence Marrs and Cecil Marrs and sister Dianna Lamm.
He is survived by his daughter Cindra Windover of Albany, NY, daughter Angela Marrs of Plano, son Kenneth Marrs and wife Anne-Lauren of Ft. Worth, daughter Charmaine Taylor Mancuso of Mabank, son Mark Taylor of Mabank, daughter Donna Lewis of Gun Barrel City, 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and 1 great-great grandchild on the way, sister Peggy Ward and husband Ralph of Emory, brother Gene Marrs and wife Claudia of Kemp, brother Boyd Marrs of Mabank, other loving family members and many more lifelong friends.
