

Joe was born on July 21, 1942 in Borger, Texas to parents J.B. and Ruby (Pillow) Cook Sr. and entered into eternal rest on November 16, 2014 at the age of 72. Joe graduated from Borger High School, where he was a member of the band and played the trumpet. Joe worked as a paperboy and a movie theatre usher, when he was younger. He achieved his engineering certificate while working at Cabot Corporation and began a welding shop which evolved into his oilfield business. Joe was a very successful businessman, had a strong work ethic and was a diligent worker. Joe loved the outdoors and going hunting and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with this family, especially his grandchildren and celebrating July 4th at his lake home with a big fish fry. Joe was a member of Masonic Lodge in Skellytown, Texas for over 40 years and belonged to many local chapters. He was married for 41 years to the love of his life, Evelyn Mills Cook, who passed 2 months ago. Joe and Evelyn were members of Christian Life Center for 20 years. Joe was a very generous and caring man who will be missed dearly by those who loved and knew him.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Beulah Cook, wife Evelyn Cook, son Tommy Cook, brother J.B. Cook Jr., half brother Walter Spicer.
He is survived by his son Brian Driscoll and wife Sherri of Athens; daughter Cathy Jones and husband Brian of Austin; son T.J. Cook and wife Maria, 9 grandchildren; Matt, Eric, Chris, Mendi, Abbie, Emma, Evan, Kristen and Danielle, great-grandchildren Isabelle and Allison, mother-in-law Verna Peters and husband Paul; sister-in-law Karen Cook, niece Keri Marler, nephew J.B. Cook III, other loving family members and many more friends.
