

Johana Marie Nickens, age 37, of Mabank, Texas passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. Johana was born August 4,1984 in Metare, LA to parents, James Gerald and Glenna Marie Nickens. She grew up in St. Amant, LA. and moved to Pueblo, CO. in 1998. Johana was a vigorous and free spirited young woman; who loved four-wheeling, jet skiing, camping in the middle of the woods, and walking the Pueblo, Colorado reservoir, searching for cat-tails. Johana was creative and unique, she used her skills by crafting, gardening, cooking, painting, scrapbooking, and journaling. Christian by faith, she praised her Lord faithfully at the Life Church, in Athens, TX. Johana was a Registered Nurse, however she chose many different paths to express her compassion to all those she came across and met in her life. For the last couple of years, she has been living off and on in Texas, as well as Colorado. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her son, Jyrius Bensik. Through her busy schedule, she would make time to go thrift store shopping, walk the beach, visit her Papa's house, and go out for some good food. Johana, lived life to the fullest every chance she could; she will be truly missed by all that she knew and loved.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Mawmaw Atha and Pawpaw Glenn Ruff, and Pawpaw Gerald Nickens Sr.
Johana is survived by her son, Jyrius Bensik of Pueblo, CO.; parents, Glenna and Gerald Nickens of Mabank,TX.; sister, Candace Nickens of Mabank, TX.; brother, Thomas Nickens of Mabank, TX.; Ma (grandmother), Beulah Nickens of Galvez, LA.; and niece, Jayiden Castillo of Pueblo, CO.
A Visitation will be held Sunday, February 13, 2022 in the Chapel of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A Celebration of Life Service will occur in the Chapel of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home Monday, February 14, 2022 at 10:00am; officiated by Rev. David Jordan. A Graveside service will take place immediately after service; located at Oaklawn Cemetery, Mabank, TX.
Serving as Pallbearers will be: Jyrius Bensik. Jake Bensik. John Ruff. Alex Ruff. John Davis. Matthew Hicks. Hayden Embry. Mark Castillo.
