June Boles Tinsley was born on June 28, 1926, in Ladonia, TX, to her parents, Oscar Dalton Boles and Ida Mae Baker. She graduated from high school at 16 years old, moved to Dallas, and started working at Sears, Roebuck and Co., where she met Charlene Tinsley, who introduced her to her future husband,
Jimmie Rowe Tinsley. June and Jimmie married on November 22,1946, in Dallas, TX.
June and Jimmie enjoyed their independence, and after 6 years of working and traveling around the southwest, they welcomed their first child, Jimmie Rowe Tinsley Jr., in 1952, and shortly thereafter, their daughter, Julie Kae Tinsley, in 1955. When June's children were young, she was an active member of
Wynnewood Presbyterian Church in Dallas, and its women’s circle. When her children were older, June began working in bookkeeping in downtown Dallas, eventually becoming a Counselor's Clerk at Browne Jr. High. June was the president of every PTA organization that she participated in throughout her
children's elementary school, junior high, and high school years, eventually gaining lifetime membership.
After moving to Gun Barrel City, TX, June and Jimmie became members of First Presbyterian Church of Mabank, TX. There she continued her work with the Women of the Church while also founding, organizing, and participating in a diverse number of organizations that served the community at large, including the Aloha's of Eastwood Islands, the literary club of Cedar Creek Lake, and many more local organizations. June loved gathering with her family and her church family for meals and fellowship.
June was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie, and her siblings, Rosalie, Jack, Dorothy, Ken, and daughter-in-law Marilyn Tinsley. She is survived by her children, Jimmie Rowe Tinsley and Julie Kae Sigars (husband Chuck Sigars), her grandchildren Trey Tinsley (wife Melissa Tinsley), Beth Beauchamp (husband Cameron Beauchamp), and John Sigars, as well as her great-grandchildren, August "Bix" Beauchamp, Brooks Tinsley, and Claire Tinsley.
June was a fiercely independent woman who knew her worth, drove too fast, and always had room for dessert.
