LA Teague finished his race and passed on to the next plane peacefully surrounded by his family on July 5, 2019 at the age of 80. Born June 24, 1939 in Dallas, Texas to Jeanette and Louie Teague where he was raised at the family owned Beverly Hills Dairy. A 1958 graduate of Sunset High School, LA stayed and raised his family in Oak Cliff, Texas. He lived a full life with a passion for aviation, teaching himself to fly, getting his private pilot's license and achieving and IFR rating. A certified scuba diver and aircraft/accident recovery specialist for over 45 years, he excelled at investigation and was often called to be an expert witness in many NTSB cases. LA also taught himself the HVAC business and practiced his craft for many years when not flying his airplane and riding his motorcycle, and was fluent in Spanish. He was also a member of the Dallas Westcliff Lions Club. LA retired from the aviation industry in 2008 and he and Wanda moved to Kemp, Texas in 2009. He loved to "piddle" and the family knew that if Poppa couldn't fix it, then it was indeed broken. There wasn't anything in the house that wasn't labeled, and if you needed anything it was in his garage and he could put his finger right on it.
LA is survived by his wife of 54 years Wanda Jo Teague, sisters Janet Luke and Shirley Nichols, brother David Teague, children Joey Freeman, Lisa Teague Thornton, Sonny Teague, Keri Teague Moore, and Christopher W. Teague, 14 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren who all love their Poppa.
He will be dearly missed, but Poppa left everyone with his wisdom and forethought that will be carried on for generations to come.
