Larry Joe Hudgens

Larry Joe Hudgens, was born November 30, 1939 in Dallas, Texas to parents Arvia Hudgens and Claudine Witherspoon Hudgens, he entered into eternal rest on June 25, 200 at the age of 80 after a long battle with Parkinson’s. Larry had three passions in life sports, fishing and his grandkids. He played basketball while in High school at Rylie High School, afterwards he played recreational baseball and softball for many years across several states. When he was not on the ball field he was fishing on the lake in the creeks or some farm pond with his best friend, Terry Finley; and if he wasn’t there you could always find him watching his grandkids play ball or show their ag projects at the county livestock shows. He was a service technician for Sears & Roebuck for 40 plus years and finally retired in 1999 after making many friendships throughout the years. He is preceded in death by his parents Arvia and Claudine Hudgens, son Greg Gross, and great grandson Cooper Reeder. He is survived by his daughter Susan and Husband John Woolf, of Malakoff, Texas son Barry Hudgens of Mabank, Texas daughter Carol and husband Claudio Costilla of Mabank, Texas grandchildren; Melissa Matarazzo, Kasey Hudgens, Emily Stephens, Ashley Reeder, Dalton Reeder, Cory McDonald, Zachary McDonald, and Aaron Burke, great-grandchildren; Lily Matarazoo, Paxton Hudgens, Payton Reeder, Parker Peck and Waylon Burke along with numerous cousins and friends.
