Nannie Fay King, age 72, born in Henrietta, Texas to parents Pinkey and Ida Mae Armstrong on May 25, 1943, passed away at home in Payne Springs, Texas June 17, 2015. She retired from John Peter Smith Hospital as a registered nurse, working the Trauma O.R in 2003, and moved to Cedar Creek Lake, where she loved to be. She spent her days doing what retirees do… whatever they wanted… and she did. She said “it was amazing how acclimated she was to being retired.” Wife to William E. King, Mother to Carol K. Turner, Grammy to Taylor King, Ty Turner and Tanner Turner, and Sister to Pinkey Armstrong Jr., Mary King, Evelyn Southard Myers, Flo Duke, her twin Eddie Armstrong and Carolyn Dubois. She is survived by her daughter Carol Turner, her grandsons Taylor King, Ty Turner and Tanner Turner, her sister Evelyn Southard Myers and her multiple nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 24 years William E. King, December 19, 1985 and her siblings Pinkey Armstrong Jr., Mary King, Flo Duke, Eddie Armstrong and Carolyn DuBois. She was a devoted and loyal wife, a loving and generous mother and a very proud Grammy, of all her grandsons, that words alone cannot describe. She was hard headed, stubborn, independent, opinionated, understanding, compassionate, giving and above all a mom, a grandmother, a sister and an aunt. She was loved and will continue to be loved. She is now where she has longed to be for 30 years and had patiently waited for, to be alongside my father, her husband once again and forever. We will talk to you later, love you!
