Mrs. Patsy Lay

Patsy was born on March 31, 1944 in Henderson County, TX to parents Gordie and Essie(Stegall) Easley and entered into eternal rest on April 7, 2015 at the age of 71. Patsy graduated from Eustace High School in 1962. She worked in food service for Eustace ISD and Ski-N-Scats for 12 years. Patsy enjoyed her daily coffee with her family and friends. She had a special passion for cooking. She was known for her special chicken and dressing and sweet potatoes that she prepared with much love. The last few years she had overwhelming requests for her special dishes. She was always the life of the party and loved family gatherings and cookouts. Everybody loved her spur of the moment, witty and comical sense of humor. She looked forward to spending her Thursday evenings with her “49er” friends and family.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 22 years; Royce Lay, sisters; Mary Ann Head and Edwina Coots.

She is survived by her son Mark McCalister and wife Sheila, daughter Sharon McGahey and husband Bill, daughter Carolann Lay, grandchildren; Jonathan Brown and wife Cora, Cody McCalister and wife Jessica, Allison McCalister, Cloie Ahrens, Luis and Cash Umana, great-grandchildren; Amber, Kaylee and Keegan McCalister, Tinley and Kaceton Brown, sisters; Florence Warren, Bobbette Hull, Rosa Hamilton and Loette Self (Lloyd), brother Charles Easley (Donna), and a host of extended family and friends.
