Sandra Lynn Rowan, 81, of Mabank entered her Eternal Home on December 25, 2024.
Sandra "Sandy" was born May 22, 1943 in Corpus Christi, Texas, the daughter of Raymond and Elouise Bacus.
She grew up in Oak Cliff in Dallas, Texas, graduated Sunset High School in 1961. She went to work for Dallas Power and Light Company until she married Eddie Meiners in 1964 and was married 20 years before his accidental death in 1984. She and Eddie had a daughter, Karen and a son, David.
Sandra remarried on April 23, 1986 to Michael O. Rowan, father of C.W. Rowan and was married for 38 years. They BOTH knew God gave them to each other.
She was a kind and loving person who loved children and taught Children's Church for many years. She was still teaching up to the time of her death at RC2 Cowboy Church in Mabank.
From 1990 to 2008, she served 4 years as Deputy Court Clerk and then as Mabank Municipal Court judge for 14 years until her retirement in 2008. It was all in God's plan... NOT HERS! One of her favorite bible verses was Proverbs 3:5-6... "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and he will direct your path."
Sandra was preceded in death by her daddy, sister, mother, and her first husband.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Mike; a daughter, Karen Grisham and husband, Kelly of Mabank; her son, David Meiners and wife Cari, of Mabank; and son by marriage, C.W. Rowan and his wife Amanda, of Texarkana.
There are 6 grandchildren: Kyle Grisham, Kandice Sides, Michaela Simmons, Conner Rowan, Jake Meiners, and Josh Meiners; also 8 GREAT-grandchildren: Leighton Grisham, Stockton Grisham, Bodie Hughey, Lane Sides, Kenzie Sides, Beckham Meiners, Maeve Meiners, Logan Holcomb, Madelyn Simmons, and Elle Simmons. "NANA" was so proud of them all!
2 Timothy 4:7-8 applies to her life, "I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race, and I have remained FAITHFUL. And now the prize awaits me... the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for ALL who eagerly look forward to his appearing."
Interment will be held privately at Oaklawn Cemetery in Mabank.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Rope Catch and Ride for Christ Cowboy Church or the Mabank Fire Department.
