In her lifetime, Shirley was most proud of her family. She was devoted to her husband Bill and their daughter Kelli Sue. She successfully raised her three sons who she was so very proud of. She loved going to the casinos and playing slots when she could and was exceptionally lucky when playing Bingo. She was a strong-willed person and could always prove her point or make you straighten up with a wave of her powerful index finger pointing in the air.
In 1969, Shirley helped her husband Bill Cody start their plumbing business Bill Cody and Sons Plumbing Company. That company is still thriving today. She was instrumental in leaving a legacy of integrity and heart that has impacted generations of families.
Shirley Sharlene (Aiken) Cody was born October, 21, 1937 in Whitesboro, Texas. Shirley is preceded in death by her father William Leonard Aiken, mother Dorothy Odell (Cardwell) Aiken and brother William Harold Aiken. She is survived by her daughter Kelli Sue; her sons, Gary Dean and wife Caren of Athens, William Randy and wife Louise of Irving, Stephen Harold and wife Olivia of Rockwall; eight grandchildren, Bradley, Phillip and wife Robin, Krista and husband Chuck, Audrey, Aaron, and Marissa; twelve great-grandchildren, Cameron, Dixie, Konner, Haylie, Jacob, Carly, Billy, Knox, Hudson, Bentley, Taylor and Nora; relatives and close loving friends.
