Steve grew up in Enid, Oklahoma and graduated Enid High School. He served in the Army National Guard for 6 yrs. Steve spent many years playing base guitar with different traveling bands; one of those being “The Preachers” during the 60s. Steve enjoyed restoring antique cars and was a member of the vintage car club “Old Iron”. He cherished his time spent attending and participating in car shows.
Steve never met a stranger and was a friend to all. Steve was a warm, loving man who found joy in making others laugh. Steve will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
Stephen is preceded in death by his parents, Jules and Esther Benell.
Those left to cherish his memory; his children, Michael and Alicia Benell, Becky and Rodney Pettit; grandchildren, Michael Benell, Lynsey Benell and Ryan Pettit; great grandchild Brynnleigh Benell.
