It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tamara (Tammy) Way, who left us to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at the age of 66. Tammy’s unexpected departure leaves a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched through her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love.
Born on February 1, 1958, in Dallas, Texas, Tammy was the daughter of James Monroe Prestriedge and Helen Betty Lee Huddleston Prestriedge. Tammy loved being on the lake and fishing. One of her favorite pastimes was playing board games like Wahoo and Dice with family and friends, where she could be quite competitive. She had many hobbies, including making crafts and cooking for friends and family. She was very known for her Zuppa Toscana soup and Cowboy Beans. Tammy was generous with her nieces and grandchildren, gifting the best gifts during the holidays and birthday celebrations.
She was a loyal employee of Texas Instruments and Raytheon for 46 years.
Tammy leaves behind a beloved family who will miss her dearly. She is survived by her devoted husband, Chris T. Way; sister, Sandra Prestriedge of Mesquite, Texas; niece, Tiffany Serrano and her husband Juan Serrano; great nieces Isabella, Sofia, and Natalia Serrano of Dallas, Texas; stepdaughter, Mendy Brewer and her husband Larry Brewer; granddaughter, Jordan Senn of New Jersey; grandsons Cody and Justin Brewer of Irving, Texas; sisters-in-law Sherry Westbrook of DeSoto, Texas and Martha and Randall Willis of Ferris, Texas; along with many cherished cousins and close friends. Her absence is profoundly felt by all who knew her, but her love will forever remain in the hearts of those she left behind.
A celebration of Tammy’s life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 12 pm at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank, Texas where family and friends are invited to gather and share memories of this extraordinary woman. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Ferris Memorial Park North in Ferris, Texas.
Tammy’s love and light will forever be a part of us, and she will never be forgotten.
May she rest in peace, knowing the impact she had on this world and the people who loved her.
