Ada C. Gugliuzza

Ada Gugliuzza ,92, of Rockford died on Monday September 12, 2016. Ada was born on March 15, 1924 to Nick and Annunziata Nardini. She grew up in Rock Falls IL where she went to school, played sports, and learned music. Ada moved to Rockford to study cosmetology; for over 50 years she had her own shop in her home where she also raised her family. She married Anthony Gugliuzza on February 7, 1959. She worked until she was 91 years old and spent over 70 years as a hair dresser. Ada loved golf, bowling, cards and ceramics.

Ada is survived by daughter Mary Kay (Phillip) Albamonte, granddaughter Haley Albamonte, and grandson Anthony Albamonte. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, a sister in law Margaret Nardini and dear friends Jane and Mario DeCastris. She will be sorely missed by her cat Sandy.

Preceded in death by her husband, parents; brothers Ado Nardini, Leo Nardini, Edelio Nardini; sisters, Nevada Poci, and Edelia (Cel) Wilson. She was also preceded in death by many sisters and brothers in law and dogs Sid, and Joey.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 15, 10am at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road Machesney Park, with a visitation one hour before the service. To leave condolences visit sunsetfhmemgarden.com
