

Audrey was born on December 6, 1927 in Rockford, the daughter of Walter and Ida L. Heller Frederick. She married C. Burnell Lindberg on October 22, 1949 in Rockford at Zion Lutheran Church. They were married for 55 years. Audrey was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and a charter member of Gloria Dei Lutheran. She grew up in Wisconsin and graduated from Marshfield, WI High School, class of 1945. Audrey moved to Rockford and attended Rockford Business School; she was employed at Sundstrand, Joseph Behr’s & Sons and retired from the Rockford Board of Education in January of 1988.
Audrey was a member of several luncheon groups, which included Retired Secretaries, the Alaska Cruise group and others that they had met during their travels. Audrey and Burnell loved to travel and went on several cruises to the Panama Canal, Alaska and the Caribbean. She helped plan many Navy Ship reunions with her husband and hosted many of the events.
Audrey is survived by her daughter Gayle (Jim) Ciembronowicz; son Brian C. Lindberg; sister LaRayne H. Spielman; grandsons Christopher and Jonathan Ciembronowicz; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents and husband Burnell on December 23, 2004.
Life is special. Live life to its fullest every chance you get and spend it with people that are closest to you and cherish the time you have with them. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal…forever in our hearts…love you Grandma.

A service to celebrate Audrey’s life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 9, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road Machesney Park with Rev. Dr. Michael E. Thomas of Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
