Barbara Jean Farrey

Barbara Jean Farrey, 67, of Loves Park, died on January 24, 2011 in her home surrounded by her family. Born March 10, 1943 in Rockford, the daughter of Robert and Lottie (Samms) Strahorn . Married Lawrence Farrey on March 19, 1960. She was employed by Hilander Foods and Nutrition Works. Barbara enjoyed playing bingo and gambling. She loved her family and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Barb was a very generous and giving person. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Survived by her husband, Larry; children, Sherry (Jerry) Christiansen, Lori Shoemaker, Jackie (Tom) Campbell and Lisa (Chris) Paul; grandchildren, Angie, Amanda (Adam), Derek, Justin (Jennifer) , Joshua, Jacob, Seana (Joe), Cody and Dylan; great-grandchildren, Ayden, Korbin, Landon, and Liam; brothers, Harry (Pat) Strahorn, Robert Strahorn, Art Strahorn and A.J. (Brenda) Strahorn; sisters, Pat (Mike) Otten and Margie Diventi. Predeceased by her parents; sister, Corlie Strahorn and Dawn Poore. Funeral Services at 1 pm on Friday, January 28, 2011 in Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
