Barbara J Moser, age 82, of Machesney Park, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 in Rockford, Illinois. She was born May 15, 1943 to Spencer and Lurella Anderson in Sparta, Wisconsin. She graduated from West High School in 1961. She married the love of her life, Robert Moser, on December 21, 1963 and they spent 45 wonderful years together before he passed in 2008. Barbara worked for 43 years as a postal worker, climbing the ranks to Postmaster secretary.
Barbara loved watching sports, she especially enjoyed cheering for her favorite Chicago teams, the Bears and the Cubs. Her favorite games to watch were the ones her nieces and nephews participated in. She also enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and word searches.
Barbara is survived by her children, Greg (Shelly) Moser, and Tina (Jeff) Gallagher; grandchildren, Allen Moser, Suzanne Moser, Brian Moser, and Taylor (Ty) Gallagher-Tanker; siblings, Winnie (Loren) Christie and Dave (Rona) Anderson; sister-in-law, Debbie Anderson and Delores Fizzy; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Moser Sr.; son, Robert “Bobby” Moser Jr.; parents, Spencer and Lurella Anderson; and brother, Spencer Anderson II.
A visitation will be held for Barbara on Friday, November 14 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, Illinois, 61115. An extended visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am with service to follow at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
