Betty Lou Hutcheson was a strong Christian woman who went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Aug. 2nd, 2015 at the age of 86. She taught her family to love deeply and unconditionally, to show strength in the face of adversity, to stand up for what they believed in, and most importantly, to spread the word and grace of God. She survived many challenges in life, and through it all retained an unshakable faith in the healing power of our God Almighty. She was a prayer warrior for her friends and family. Her strength was unmatchable and she showed the beauty of God’s love every day.
Betty was so creative. She entertained the children of the family with made up stories about things like fortune-seeking peanuts and honey-seeking bears. She could make any old chore new and fun. Betty had a feisty streak. She loved to laugh and make jokes, and nothing made her smile more than all of her grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren. They brought her so much pride and joy.
She is survived by her daughter, Pam (Mark) Minturn, as well as six grand-children, eleven great-grand-children and three great-great-grand-children. She was preceded by her parents James and Pearl (Babb) Venters, three brothers and three sisters, and her son, Randy. She left this world knowing how much she was loved and her family knew beyond a shadow of a doubt how much she loved them. All of her family will miss her immensely.
Services: 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park, IL. Entombment immediately following in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
