Betty was born on February 15, 1951 in River Falls, Wisconsin to Orville (Swede) and Frances (Björk) Weishaar. As a young child, her family moved to California. Ten years later, they moved back to River Falls, where Betty graduated from River Falls High School, Class of ‘69. She met her devoted husband, Curlee Lee Percey, in 1979 and moved to Rockford shortly after. They wed on February 25, 1989 in her parents' home in River Falls, Wisconsin. Not only was she a beloved wife, she was a beloved sister, aunt and godmother. And faithful to her lord and savior.
Betty enjoyed her career at RBR trucking in Rockton, IL as an office manager. When she left there, she joined Curlee on his semi-rig and enjoyed seeing the country with him. In retirement, they owned a small shop that sold a variety of music, called Music Connection. While at home, she loved being creative doing crafts and painting.
Betty is survived by her husband Curlee Lee Percey, niece Jodie Durden(Jody Webb), nephew, Jon Simpson (Cathy), godchildren Kimberly Arnold and Christopher Lundgaard (Christina). Betty is further survived by numerous cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville (Swede) and Frances Weishaar, sisters Carol Simpson, Judy Durden and brother-in-law Paul Simpson.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 12 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115, with a service to follow at 2:00 pm. Entombment rites will be accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
