

Boyd Miller, 89, of Rockford passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014. Born June 25, 1925 in Rose Hill, KY, son of John Wesley and Narah Zella (Murphy) Miller. Loving father of Narah Loretta Champion and dear grandfather of Christine Shuman. Boyd volunteered during WWII serving in the US Army. Boyd arrived in Rockford in 1945 where he met his wife Vana Lee Pool, they married on December 5, 1953. Boyd enjoyed helping his friends and neighbors, taking care of his yard, and tinkering in his garage. He was patient and kind to everyone and he will be missed by all.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Vana L. Miller; daughter, Narah Loretta (Robert) Champion; granddaughter, Christine (James) Shuman; great-granddaughter, Emma Shuman; sister, Clara Arnold; good friend, Carl Truman; and the great neighbors of Brewster Heights.
Predeceased by his parents, sisters, Myrtle Burns and Nora Phillips; brothers, Arthur, Paul, and A.J. Miller.
