Brian Jay Hanson, 56, of Rockford passed away in Arkansas while on a float trip with his brother Alan. Brian was born in Rockford on August 28, 1965, the son of Floyd James and Barbara Ann (DuFoe) Hanson. Brian married Lori Pipitone on May 17, 1997. Brian worked for Sunstrand for 26 years (Collins Aerospace), where he had achieved a patent and received many awards. He liked muscle cars and was an extremely talented artist. Brian loved classic rock; playing the guitar and writing his own music. Brian and his brother Alan made many float trips to Missouri and Arkansas. He loved working in his yard and loved his “Cats” Libby and Ranger.
Brian is survived by his wife Lori; mother Barbara Hanson; brother: Alan (Pamela) Hanson; sister: Beth-el (Bob) Teshwuah; four nieces and one great-niece. Brian was preceded in death by his father Floyd Hanson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial are suggested to the family.
Visitation for Brian will be 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM on Saturday June 4, 2022 at Berean Baptist Church 5626 Safford Rd. in Rockford; service to celebrate Brian’s life will be 2:30 PM at the church. Sunset Funeral Home in Machesney Park will accord cremation rites after services.
