Bryan D. Lintz, 60, of Machesney Park, Illinois, passed away after a very brief illness on Friday, January 30, 2026. Bryan was born on January 15, 1966, in Rockford, to Wayne Lintz and Jean Head. He attended Harlem High School and always had local roots in the Loves Park/Machesney Park area. On June 2, 2018, Bryan married his sweetheart, Melissa. He was a dedicated employee with Rosecrance as a maintenance worker for eight years. He truly loved his job, and made sure that wherever he was, his work phone was fully charged in his pocket.
To describe Bryan in a few words, he was easy going, calm, and always happy. He was very connected and comfortable around people. He often would venture off on his daily Menard’s trip and find someone he knew or make a new friend. One of Bryan’s greatest joys was helping others, especially if a car was involved. He loved his ’62 Impala and was proud to take it to many car shows. Bryan enjoyed a cold Coors Light or Miller 64, particularly at the Loves Park VFW, or one of the famous family driveway parties. These driveway parties were always spur of the moment but often led to many family dinners and countless memories. Every September, he looked forward to the annual fishing trip with his brothers and friends. In the colder months, his priority was preparing the yard for Christmas Inflatables, and the Loves Park Christmas Parade. His granddaughters loved to help him with this task, making sure every light glowed perfectly.
Bryan is survived by his wife, Melissa Lintz; daughter, Courtney (Ethan) Cain; granddaughters, Olivia Cain and Millie Cain; brothers, Jeff (Chris) Schewe and Tim (Melissa) Schewe; package deal, Stacey Judge; step-children, Steve (Aimee) Dover, Jeremy Dover, and Rachelle (Donnie) Hatheway; 7 step-grandchildren; numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles; beloved dog, Suzie.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Lintz; mother and stepfather, Jean and Wayne Schewe; sister, Tonya Graves; grandchild, Grayson Phillip.
Bryan’s family would like to invite you to celebrate his life on Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, at the Loves Park VFW Post 9759, 2018 Windsor Road, Loves Park, Illinois 61111. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bryan’s name to the Loves Park VFW.
