Carol J. Mackiewicz

Carol J. Mackiewicz, age 94, of Warsaw, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Lincoln Community Care Center. She was born on August 26, 1930 in Craigsville, Virginia the daughter of Everette and Nellye (Floyd) Miller.

Carol was united in marriage to Chet Mackiewicz. Unto this union one son Chet Mackiewicz II was born. They made their home in Rockford, Illinois from 1953 until moving to Warsaw in 1996. Carol was employed in retail sales in the Rockford area for several years. She was a member of Evans United Methodist Church of Machesney Park, Illinois. She enjoyed tending to her yard and gardening. She also volunteered for the Warm House in Warsaw for over fourteen years.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Chet Mackiewicz in 1993 and one brother Everett “Buddy” Miller.

Carol is survived by her son, Chet Mackiewicz II, and his wife Laura, of Richland, Missouri, two grandsons; Chet Mackiewicz III and his wife DeAnne, of South Beloit, Illinois and Nick Mackiewicz and his wife Lora, of Springfield, Missouri, four great-grandchildren; McKayla, Michael, McKenna and Jillian.

A graveside service will take place on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Machesney Park, Illinois.
