Cynthia Rodriguez-Carter

Cynthia Rodriguez-Carter, 66, Loves Park , passed away at Swedish American Hospital on May 20, 2012, after surviving a courageous battle with cancer and suffering with a respiratory ailment. She was born on November 6, 1945 in Kentucky and was raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Al and Donna Hans.

She married Donnie Carter on December 31st, 1992 and spent many wonderful years together. Cynthia enjoyed camping and fishing. She loved her husband, her family and her many dogs immensely. Cynthia always treated and greeted people with respect, especially her doctors and nurses. Throughout her long illness, she had the loving support of her family.

Cynthia is survived by her husband; Donnie, her children; Shawn (Stephanie) Rodriguez, Crystal (Jason) Schuring, Heather Minks, Steve (Tracy) Carter, Brian Carter and Rebecca (Dom) Barcellona; and numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren. A very special thanks to Tiny Rodriguez( ex-daughter in law) for her years of dedication and loving care and friendship to Cynthia and her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a special niece; Michelle Carter and mother in law, Janice Smith.

A special thanks to all of the doctors and nurses who cared for her.

A visitation will be held from 4pm to 6pm on Friday, May 25, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Road, Machesney Park, Illinois. A funeral service will follow at 6 pm. Cremation rites will be accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.
