

Danny Ray Aaronson left this world on Tuesday, Jan 3, 2017. He was born on March 8, 1943 to Lloyd and Lavern (Urban) Aaronson. He married Carlene (Althide) Aaronson on august 20, 1967. Danny attended several Rockford schools, worked as a Machinest, a Plasterer and in road construction for Rockford Blacktop retiring in 2001. He was a member of the international brotherhood of teamsters where he served as the union steward for several years. He was also a member of the international order of Vikings at the Ellida Lodge, where he held offices in the campers and sportsmen clubs.
Danny enjoyed playing cards with the neighbors Roy and Marilee, Leo and Doris and Shirley. He also enjoyed traveling with friends Tom and Shirley, Clif and Elaine and the neighbors. He especially enjoyed the trip to Germany, Alaska and Hawaii. His favorite trips were with grandson Evan visiting several states, both east and west. He also enjoyed the extensive trips to the Tucson area and becoming a UOA fan!!!
Danny was a life-long Chicago Bears fan in both the good and not so good seasons---so, wearing your Bears apparel is appropriate!!
He was also a big Harlem High fan and enjoyed watching Evan for the past 3 years.
Danny is survived by his wife, Carlene, his son Aaron Daniel (Dawn), his "rock star" grandson Evan Daniel and his newly "acquired" grandson, Trae Varney.
He is also survived by his caring family, brothers Charlie (Dottie), Ronnie(Josie), Gary (Connie), Berny, and John(Linda) and sisters Barbara (Curt) Lersh and Sally Ross. His in-laws Gale and Jane, Kevin and Roxanna Althide. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his Parents, his in-laws, Frederick and Faye Althide and a brother-in law Bill Ross.
Memorial Service is at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 7 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park. Visitation is at 1 p.m. until time of service. Long time family friend Pastor Duane McDonough will be Officiating the service. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to be used for the grandsons education. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
