Darlene (Blades) Foss

Sunday November 4, 2012 at her residence. Darlene was born on

July 14, 1934 in Rockford, the daughter of Lloyd and Lottie Eastman.

She graduated from West High School, she married John Blades on

December 15, 1956 and he preceded her in death in 1973.

She married Eugene K. Foss on November 22, 1975

and he preceded her in death in 1992. Darlene retired from the

Visiting Nurses Association after over 20 years of service.

She attended St. Rita’s Church, was a member of the

Rockford Moose Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary.

Darlene's motto was "Live, Love and Laugh"; she enjoyed floral arranging and collecting angels.

She looked forward to and loved her “Sister Nite” and family occasions.

She loved spending winters in Lake Havasu and

making trips to Minocqua, WI to spend time with family and friends and her

motto there was "Eat, Drink and Gamble".

She helped out with various organizations with her son Paul and her family.

The family of Darlene would like to thank all of her great neighbors and friends who

stayed with her until the end, and a special "thank you" to the VNA and Hospice

for all their care. Darlene is survived by her daughters Dawn (Scott Wilson) Archuleta and

Dorianne (Sam) Castree; sons Roger( Connie) Foss and

David (George Batchelor) Foss; grandchildren Phelan, Michael and Austin Archuleta,

Jennifer Clark, Kylee Karns, Jessica and Kristina Pulliam, Joe(Cara) Foss,

Lindsay( Jeremiah) Smith, Christian( Dana) Foss,

Tyler(Rebecca) Foss and great grandson Aidan Clark; numerous grandchildren ,

nieces and nephews also survive; sister Dolores(Ben) Graceffa and daughter-in-law

Betty Barclay. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands,

daughter Denise Pulliam, sons Paul and Dan, sister Linda Story.

Memorials are suggested to Ingrassia Confer Dictionary Fund

or to the family to decide at a later date in Darlene’s name.

A service to celebrate Darlene’s life will be 11:00 a.m.

Saturday November 10, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road Machesney Park.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
