Darlene "Missy" Sue Vallance, 51, of Machesney Park, Illinois, passed away at home on Sunday, July 7, 2024. Missy was born on February 13, 1973, here in Rockford. Missy enjoyed being social, but also appreciated a day at home with her furry friend, Skippy. When at home, you could count on Missy listening to rock music, as well as cheering on the New England Patriots in the fall time. She loved watching the NFL, and usually had multiple games on at a time. She also enjoyed being a member at the YMCA the past few years. She had a great personality that will be missed by friends and family. Her generosity and care for others was immense and strong.
She is survived by her brother, Donnie W. (Sue) Vallance; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members; and her furry friend, Skippy. Her mother, Sandra "Sandy" Vallance, preceded her in death, as well as her grandmother, Dorothy Bennett, and grandfather, Chester Milburn.
A celebration of life memorial gathering for Darlene will be held Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, Illinois 61115.
