David W. Voy, 81 of Rockford passed away on July 29. Born on September 21, 1931 in Rockford, David was the son of Hermann and Irene (Peacock) Voy. He married Ethel Smith-Emert on December 1, 1956 in Rockford.
An avid sportsman and gun collector, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses, stock car racing (Car #88). He was also a great teacher of tying shoe laces and riding bicycles.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 56 years, Ethel Voy; daughter, Catherine (Don) Tarro; granddaughter, Bevin (Ryan) Olson; great granddaughters, Madison Jones and Bailee Olson; those he mentored, The Buss Girls and Bogenrief Boys; and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents, brothers, Kenneth and Bradley Voy; sisters, Ramona Beckett and Merilyn Falnes.
