Don W. Gugliemetti, 88, of Rockford, IL, passed on May 14, 2026 in Rockford, IL. He was born March 19, 1938 in Granville, IL, the son of Lawrence and Doris (Jegglie) Guglielmetti. Don graduated from Rockford East High School, class of 1956. He went on to join the United States Army and served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Don married Judith Lindquist on October 19, 1961. He was employed as a machinist for Barber Colman and retired in 2001. Don was a devoted member of Alpine Lutheran Church for many years. He enjoyed classic cars, at one time Don owned up to 100 cars during his lifetime. Don was a talented woodworker and made numerous pieces of furniture. He liked having a vegetable garden to tend to.
Don is survived by his children, Craig Gugliemetti and Brian Gugliemetti; grandchildren, Austin and Alyssa Gugliemetti; nephews, Jeff Lindquist and Andy Lindquist, and Chris and Jason Evans; and niece, Noel Lindquist. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Judith and sister Karen Evans.
A private service will take place. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
