Dorothy Lorraine Bross, aged 85, of Rockford, Illinois passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025. She was born September 14, 1939 to Clyde and Anna (Boldys) Parker in Chicago, Illinois. Dorothy worked for many years as an executive secretary. She was a member of Riverside Community Church.
Dorothy was part of bowling leagues at both Don Carter Lanes and Cherry Bowl. She served as league secretary for several years. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and cooking. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Everett (JoAnn) Bross, Daniel (Sara) Bross, Sarah (Matthew) Legue; twenty-four grandchildren; and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her sons, David L Bross Jr and Peter John Bross; parents, Clyde and Anna Parker; and siblings, Clyde Parker, Ann Caliendo, and Marilyn Mackel.
A visitation for Dorothy will be held on Monday, July 28 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Riverside Community Church, 6816 N 2nd St, Machesney Park, Illinois 61115 with a service to follow at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, Illinois, 61115.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Breakthrough Church or Riverside Community Church.
