Dorothy Martha Jane Pagano

Dorothy Martha Jane Pagano, 87, Machesney Park, passed away on October 30, 2012 at her residence. She was born on November 3, 1924 in Chilicothe, Illinois to Elmer and Mahalia Lundholm. She married Fred M. Pagano on December 24, 1941 and remained married to him for 56 years, until his passing in 1997.

After her marriage, Dorothy worked at National Lock for many years. She enjoyed Sunday drives, cooking, playing cards with family, watching the squirrels play and mostly visiting with her friends and family.

Survivors include her children; Patsy (David) Dodd, Michael (Lillian) Pagano Sr. and Terry Malmgren; and a sister, Lillian Swatsell. Dorothy is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Sr., a son Fred Jr. and a grandson, Michael Pagano Jr.

The family would like to give thanks to Dorothy’s caregivers, Adrienne, Alan, Amber, Sue, Joseph, Natalie, Tammy and Sue T. They would also like to extend thanks to Hospice Care of America.

There will be a funeral service at 2pm on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park. Pastor Wendell Maynard will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 12pm to 2pm on the day of the service. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the family.
