

Born January 2, 1913 in Maquoketa, IA, to Lewis and Ada (Shultz) Tank.
She went on to marry the love of her life, Beauford Hermann on February 21, 1941.
Edna was a retired educator, having been an elementary teacher and principal, and an Assistant Supt. in a Regional Office, State of Illinois. She held a BS and MA Degree from Rockford College, where she was a Founding Member of The Alumni Charter Club. She was selected Alumna of the year in 1986. She became an Honorary Charter Member of The International Society of Poets in 1993, and a Life Member in 1994. She was inducted into The International Poetry Hall of Fame in 1996, on the Internet’s World Wide Web, (video), and on audio in 1998. She was an active member of The Rockford Women’s Club. She shared her talent with churches, schools, and civic organizations, with poetry readings, and teaching poetry, creative writing, and creative dramatics.
She will be truly missed.
Survivors include her husband of 73 years, Beauford Hermann; 4 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and son, Lindall Hermann.
