Evelyn A. Magnuson

Evelyn A. Magnuson (last of the Crowner family), 85, of Machesney Park passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2018 with family at her side. Evelyn was born on January 23, 1933 in Fairfield, Iowa to John and Ethel (Anders) Crowner. Evelyn was loved by all; she was a wife, mother and friend; who will be missed dearly. Evelyn loved to crochet and had many items that she made and would display around the house. Evelyn was a shoe saleswoman in Iowa and moved to Illinois because of her son who was disabled. She then met and found Lloyd H. Magnuson and was happily married for 33 years.

Evelyn is survived by a son Greg Beatty; daughter Denise Magnuson who was loved by her; aunt Joyce Crowner; special cousins Sherri, Janet, Ronna and Marjorie; special cousin who was like a son to Evelyn: Tom Tormohlen; numerous other family and friends.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and one sister.

Service to celebrate Evelyn’s life will be 2:00 pm Friday, June 1, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park; visitation for Evelyn will be from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Chapel of Love.
