F. Evelyn Wiemer

Florence Evelyn Wiemer, 84 of Rockford passed away peacefully on April 25, 2012. She was born in Greensburgh, Missouri to John Witte and Pauline (Riley) Witte on July 18, 1927 and went by Evelyn all of her life. She grew up in Edina Missouri. She married David Louis Wiemer on September 17, 1950 in Burlington IA and had four children.

She is survived by the father of her children, her oldest son David (Kathy) of Minnetonka MN, Douglas (Kathy) of Boulder CO, Diana of Durand IL, and Daniel (Kim) of Red Wing MN; grandchildren: Emily, Julia, and Paige. Evelyn’s siblings include Cecelia Ream of Oklahoma City OK and John Witte of Kirksville MO.

She was preceded in death by her sister Polly and her parents.

Evelyn Wiemer went home to be with the Lord. She took immense pride in her family and church. She was a Sunday school teacher for over 30 years and at one time was actively involved in LCW. She enjoyed being an election judge and involved with the community. She loved cooking, writing poetry, journaling, and working the daily crosswords. She will be sadly missed by her church and friends.We would like to thank the staff of Wesley Willows for their care and concern these past four years.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm on Sunday, April 29 at Sunset Funeral Home on 8800 N Alpine Rd in Rockford. The funeral service will be at 10 am on Monday April 30, 2012 at St. Mark Lutheran Church on 675 N, Mulford Rd in Rockford.
