Tom the Master Tailor, 88, of Loves Park, IL, passed away after a short illness on Monday evening, December 19, 2022 in the arms of his loving wife. He was born February 20, 1934 in Corleone, Sicily. Tom left for Italy to attend cutting school at 17 years old. He was drafted into the Italian Army at 21 years old. After the service, Tom came to the United States in 1960. Tom married Josephine “Josie” Scalia on September 29, 1962 in Beloit, WI. Tom was a master tailor and owned and operated Tom the Tailor for many years. He was a faithful member of St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Loves Park. Tom was an accomplished singer; having been able to sing with the Rockford Symphony Orchestra. He was a very hard working man, who enjoyed gardening and dancing. Tom will be truly missed by his loving family.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Josephine; daughter-in-law, Enza Milone; grandchildren, Anthony and Angelina Milone; step-grandchildren; Concetta (Miguel) Longras and Luigi Bluni; brothers, Vincenzo (Catherine) Milone and Francesco (Maria) Milone; brother-in-law, Vito Scalia; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son, Ignazio “Nate” Milone; granddaughter, Rosie Bluni; parents, Ignazio and Lucia Milone; brother, Gino Milone; sister, Salvatrice (Vincenzo) Coronati; mother and father-in-law, George and Josephine Scalia, brother-in-law, Samuel Scalia; and sister-in-law, Lucille Bertone.
