Gary Michael Skirtich, a resident of Rockton, Illinois, passed away on October 20, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on September 13, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois, to Michael and Marguerite Skirtich, Gary was a hard-working, generous, and kind-hearted individual.
Gary earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from Illinois State University and went on to become an impressively qualified manufacturing engineer. He was known for his dedication and skill in his field.
On September 14, 1974, Gary married Cindy Mesner, with whom he shared a loving life. Gary was a simple man who enjoyed a good meal and watching the Chicago Bears from his recliner. Above all, he was a devoted family man who cherished his time with loved ones.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Cindy; children, Cristina Skirtich, Angela de la Uz, Trisha (Lon) Bartlett, and Michael (Megan) Skirtich; grandchildren, Tatyana, Izabella, Lilyana, Rosalina, Landon, Tabitha, Roxanne, Chloe, and Sawyer; sister, Michaelyn (Steve) Crain; goddaughter, Jennifer Mesner; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Marguerite.
