George Boan

George was a graduate of South Elgin High School, who later went on to marry the love of his life Wanda Rae Dailey, in Dubuque Iowa. George was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 325, who was employed by; Greyhound, Yellow Freight, and Rockton Charter for a combined 50 plus years.

George will be truly missed by his surviving, children, George (Lorraine) Boan, Sherry (Dennis) Meier, Patty (Jim) Gibson, Vicky (Ken) Tremaine, Judy (Rory) Robbins, Andy (Kelly Carr) Boan, Chuck (Kim) Boan, Jeff Sorn, Susan Boan-Bookhart, and Scott (Doris) Boan; 20 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; special friends Bob (Teresa) Meinert; and loving pets Duke, Rosie, and Baby.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; son; grandson; 2 brothers, 1 sister, and his son-in-law.

Funeral service 3 p.m. Saturday, July 27 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park. Pastor Doug Swanson officiating. Visitation 1 p.m. till the time of service. Cremation Rites will be accorded.
