Always good conversations with Lee. Always a joy to talk with him. He always had time and was a great listener. May the grace of God comfort the family during this time.

Very sorry to here of Lee’s passing. It was a blessing to have Lee and his family as a customer and a friend in his business. Many fond memories of after work fun. Including my first down hill ski trip with Lee. See you in a few miles my friend and Rest In Peace. Mike Simonds


I had the privilege of knowing Lee since I was a little boy. I loved to sit and visit with him and my grandpa and listen to his stories  !! I remember when we would see each other and I would go to shake his hand he would say “We don’t just shake hands we are  like family give me a hug”  Yes I considered  him family what a great man I sure am going to miss him. 
I know he is in heaven and we will see him again.

Lee was a wonderful friend since our grade school days at Datto grade school.  
To his family you all have my deepest sympathy. 
May His promises comfort you and sustain you.   May His steadfast love be your strength and hope.  Caring thoughts from the heart.

First to my family that reads this, I’m sure sorry for this tremendous loss. Our hearts stand in accord with you all as we grieve ! Heaven is  rejoicing today as another servant comes home...what a Blessing to have Uncle Lee in my life,  growing up. A Great role model to me. Never seemed to get out of character by the woes life throws at us. Always including us kids on lake trips teaching so many of us to fish and ski. Some of my most fond memories still to this day some 35 years later are of the big family Saturday’s at lake Carroll , the countless Fourth of July fish frys over the years where Uncle Lee would surely be behind the fryer, the  mesmerizing stories of his life experiences. Stories about coming to Illinois after the war for work  and drilling wells. The “moose and Jeff” stories, simpler times of a harder life growing  up.. His humble heart when reflecting on his service to our country .  Such a  Great man of God! ... I will forever miss the  “how’s Jamie Lewis?” And the “hey jimpsom weed!” greetings . ..  we are  interceding  for Gods mercy and His peace that passes ALL understanding  to cover your hearts  today and going forward . I love you Uncle Lee and will miss you here on Earth, but we will meet again thanks to Jesus.  A lot of my childhood has great memories of you, from teaching me to ski when the ski's were bigger than me to a love for classic cars.  Aunt Peggy, I love you and know your going to miss your best friend for the last 60+ years, but this earth is only a pit stop for us before Heaven if we believe in Christ.  We celebrate Gods grace to allow us to enjoy our time with vibrant Spirit in Uncle Lee.

Peggie.....I am so sorry for your loss. Getheridge was a dear person.

I have know Lee , since I was 11 years old . He was like a brother to me my mother fix several meals for him after work he worked with my father.

There are not enough words to tell you what a blessing Lee Peggie have been to my family. They are like my own family.
My husband loved him like a brother they were brothers in Christ and he loved our family as well.
We were  baptized into the Lords family on the same night what a blessing.
His Jolly way , Yes love for family God and his country will not be forgotten.


First memory that came to mind, is from a time we all still lived in New Milford.  We were going fishing, had hunted dew worms the night before. 
This particular trip I was riding with Uncle Lee and Geoff and Greg and pulling away from my house on Will James Road. And low and behold, a black cat crosses the street in front of us.  Uncle Lee stops and begins backing up into someone's driveway.
I was like why are you turning around. He says, didn't you see that black cat? Crossed the road right in front of us. We're going fishing, we don't need any bad luck, black cats are bad luck, don't you know that..... something along those lines. It was the first time I learned about that superstition.  
Bottom line, we weren't taking any chances when it came to catching fish.

My husband Bob and I appreciated Lee’s sense of humor. We enjoyed visiting with him at church and knew how much he loved our Lord. He will be greatly missed by our family but we have assurance that we will meet again in heaven.

Lee is survived by his loving wife Peggie; sons: Geoffrey Lee (Teresa) Lester and Gregory J. (Eva) Lester; grandchildren: Ashley Meyer, Bradlee (Nicole) Lester, Josiah Lester and Emma Lester; great-grandchildren: Preston LaBay, Greyson Meyer, Emerson Meyer and Nora Lee Lester; sisters: Marilyn Marr and Yulonda Hubbard; brother: Chelsie “Dee” Lester. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
