Gwendolyn L. Strothmann

ROCKFORD – Gwendolyn Lee (Galligan) Strothmann, 83, of Rockford passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012, surrounded by her family. Born August 9, 1928, in Milwaukee, daughter of Clarence and Ethel (Travis) Galligan. Graduated from Bay View High School in Milwaukee. Gwen married Curt Strothmann on June 12, 1948, in Milwaukee. She was a realtor in Rockford for many years, and volunteered at the Montessori school after she retired. Survivors include her loving husband for 63 years, Curt Strothmann; sons James (Valerie Wilk) Strothmann of Falls Church, VA, and David (Kathy) Strothmann of Pine Junction, CO; daughters Patty(Ed) Crylen of Naperville, and Nancy (Robert) Reafler of Rockford; grandchildren Curtis (Ryann) Crylen of Greeley, CO, Kathryn (Phil) Hackman of Glen Ellyn , Carolyn (Scott) Munson of Broomfield, CO, and Nicholas (Mindy Minor) Amsbaugh of Rockford; brothers William (Cleida) Galligan of Sturgeon Bay, Thomas (Carol) Galligan of Cudahy, Brian (Maria) Galligan of Fort Lauderdale, Richard (Kathy) Galligan of The Villages; sister-in-law Charlotte Galligan of Royal Oak, MI; brother-in-law Rudolph Strothmann of Tucson; and 9 great grandchildren. Predeceased by parents; sister Patty Lou Galligan; brothers Kenneth Galligan, and Donald Galligan; sister-in-laws Joyce Strothmann and Jo Strothmann; brother-in-law Werner Strothmann.

Visitation from 12:00 till time of Memorial service Friday, May 25, at 1:00 p.m., Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2821 N. Bell School Road, Rockford.
